Best Overall Beach Umbrella
A 6.5 ft diameter beach umbrella with 100+ SPF UV protection, durable polyester fabric canopy, and sand anchor. The one position tilt feature allows you to move the canopy for custom shade.
This umbrella has a slight difficulty in stronger winds and may flip inside out. It will stay put in the sand though.
SPF Factor and Shade: One thing that sets this umbrella apart from the rest is that it has SPF 100+ sun protection and 6.5 feet of shade. Now, that's impressive.
Another great feature of this umbrella is the tilt option. It allows you to maintain shade as the sun changes position. It's also possible to adjust the height for more or less shade, too.
Ease of Use: The Tommy Bahama umbrella comes apart into two pieces and easily stores in the shoulder bag each time. The umbrella, which comes with a polyester carrying case, is available in four different color combinations, including a red stripe, blue/white stripe, and green/blue stripe.
As a bonus, this umbrella weighs only 4.3 lbs (with the carrying bag included). It's lightweight and small enough to be stored easily at home or in your car. Plus, you'll be able to carry it along with a cooler and maybe a few beach chairs, too.
We also love that this beach umbrella has an accessory hanging hook to keep everything (towels, camera, bags) free of sand.
Durability: This umbrella is made from 300D polyester which is thicker than most beach umbrellas. The polyester fabric is both UVA and UVB resistant and easy to clean.
The pole is a 32mm diameter, aluminum pole that breaks down into two pieces. It's also rust resistant, so you don't have to worry about it getting wet either.
For added stability, the Tommy Bahama beach umbrella has an integrated sand anchor at the bottom of the pole. This holds your beach umbrella pole firmly in the sand.
It screws into the sand or turf with a simple twist, and makes your umbrella much more secure. Not to worry though, it's easy to set up. The sand anchor makes it quick and simple to stand this umbrella up in under a minute. A wind vent, located on the top of the canopy, increases the umbrella's stability, too.
Price: $60 is somewhat high for any typical beach umbrella, but not for the best (and lightest) one out there.
