This super-affordable action cam from GoPro is aiming to demolish the competion.
Sporting a somewhat confusing name, this super-affordable action cam is the fall entry-level offering from GoPro. Featuring 1080p at 30fps and 720p at 60fps and Superview, you also get killer waterproof protection up to 40m.
While the footage quality is definitely lacking compared to the two higher end GoPro models, it is still fairly decent. Maybe this doesn't matter to you; some people just want a tough action cam they can take anywhere.
At just $129, the GoPro Hero has the potential to become the first ubiquitous action cam. Perhaps. Or maybe GoPro had a lot of parts left over from last year's Hero 3 White edition, which this camera closely resembles.
The downside? There is no HDMI port, so you need a computer to display your footage. But for $129, does anyone really care?
