Suavecito Pomade vs Mack for Men ShapeShifter

Suavecito Pomade vs Mack for Men ShapeShifter

Suavacito may have started their business with this pomade, but they've grown a crazy amount since then. And, it's all thanks to the overwhelmingly brilliant simplicity of the Suvacito Pomade

They're one of the brands we can thank for getting men back in the style game. And the Suavacito pomade? It's not just the stuff of legends; it's the stuff on your shelf.

And, yeah, we know there are other pomades on the market, but this one has always held a special place.

That's why we lined it up for testing, strand by strand, and wash by wash, against a newcomer in the market.

Mack for Men ShapeShifter Pomade is making waves - or rather webs... Did you hear that Spiderman, erm, Tom Holland just wore it on the red carpet?

And with that kind of splash, we needed to see how one of our best-loved pomades held up against a new, but serious, competitor.

Here's what we found:

The verdict: We've got to give it to ShapeShifter and so will you.

  • SUAVACITO: 9.0/10
  • SHAPESHIFTER: 9.5/10

There are plenty of reasons to turn to Suavacito Pomade, but an overwhelming hold isn't one of them. If you're looking for serious control of your style, whatever the length or height, you've got it in ShapeShifter.

The verdict: It's ShapeShifter once again. You get a real choice of shine here.

  • SUAVACITO: 9.2/10
  • SHAPESHIFTER: 9.6/10

Given the shine level of some pomades, you might be tempted to think Suavacito is on the lower end of the spectrum. It's getting there, but ShapeShifter does it slightly better with a little more control with a comb or with water. And it looks natural no matter how you do it.

The verdict: ShapeShifter by a mere fraction.

  • SUAVACITO: 9.5/10
  • SHAPESHIFTER: 9.6/10

There's something to be said for a soft, spreadable pomade. While we still feel strongly about the texture of Suavacito, our hearts (or rather hair) are being won over.

The verdict: Tie - straight down the middle.

  • SUAVACITO: 9.5/10
  • SHAPESHIFTER: 9.5/10

You should expect any water-based pomade to wash out easily and both Suavacito and ShapeShifter make the cut.

The verdict: Another round taken by ShapeShifter.

  • SUAVACITO: 8.7/10
  • SHAPESHIFTER: 9.7

If you're going to add another scent to your style, we feel strongly that it should be more than fresh; it should be manly at the same time. You can guess who does that.

The verdict: Some race are won by an inch, others by a foot. ShapeShifter takes it by miles.

  • SUAVACITO: 9.0/10
  • SHAPESHIFTER: 9.9/10
It's not as if Suavacito has a terrible ingredients list. It's just that ShapeShifter has a better one; it's all good stuff without the things you don't want or need in your life.

The verdict: Definitely Suavacito.

  • SUAVACITO: 9.6/10
  • SHAPESHIFTER: 9.3/10

It's difficult to understand how Suavacito manages to pull it off, but they do.

That said, almost every other aspect of this showdown goes to ShapeShifter which makes this a superior product and worth the price.

Will you make the switch?

If you're looking for the simple, smooth style you get with Suvacito - but with a more natural ingredient list and an intoxicating aroma, then you should definitely pick up some Mack for Men. And, if that doesn't sway you, the hold and the natural sheen definitely will.
