The Philips Norelco is tricky for deep cleaning and VERY pricey!
Performance: If you're looking for a close shave, this is the Philips Norelco shaver for you! The V-Track Precision Blades are able to move in 8 directions, adapting to the contours of your face and neck to get all those stubborn, hard-to-reach patches of hair around your chin and behind your jaw-line. The shave heads actually collect hairs in the cutting position, giving you a closer shave with a single pass.
Operation: This Philips Norelco shaver is most efficient when used for dry shaving, though it works very well with heavy-lather creams. It's fully waterproof and can be used in the shower. The shaver charges in just 1 hour, and gives you 50 minutes of battery life. If you find yourself running out of battery, let it charge for 3-5 minutes and you'll have enough for a shave. The LED display will let you know when it's time to recharge the batteries.
Features: A trimmer pops out of the side, perfect for trimming your moustache and sideburns. The shave heads can be removed for easy cleaning. However, getting to the metal blades themselves is a bit of a tricky process--you have to remove each head individually by opening the blade holders. Thankfully, the SmartClean system (using an alcohol-free solution) does a decent job of cleaning after most shaves. It's only when you want to thoroughly deep clean the shaver that it gets tricky.
The trimmer comes with three settings (adjustable speed), letting you customize the shave according to the thickness and texture of your hair.
Price: At $180, this is the priciest model on our shortlist. The replacement shaver heads are also quite pricey, and it is recommended you replace it every year or so. Still, for those who want a very close shave, it's a worthwhile investment.
