- Setup is a breeze
- Works fantastically
- The app is awesome and easy to use
If the Wi-Fi drops, you may run into a problem. Current constraints of this automatic feeder make it unsuitable for dogs over 50 pounds.
If you’re all about the IoT, this Smart pet feeder is going to make you really happy. There’s a digital timer that you can set through the app over your Wi-Fi connection. (You’ll need an iPhone running iOS 7.1 or greater or Android running 4.4 KitKat or higher.) And, you can vary the feeding times and amount of food anytime you want.
The entire process is relatively intuitive, but if you want to understand it better check out this video. And, before we go any further, let’s talk about how nice this unit looks. Seriously!
For Fido or Fluffy? You can use this Smart pet feeder for cats or dogs. But, you will need to check the size of the kibble and keep in mind that it’s not recommended for dogs over 50 pounds.
Kibble or tartar? It’s only for dry food and you really don’t want to try it with wet food. (We promise.) Also, it’s best for kibbles sized between 1/8-5/8” around. Yes, we do mean around; round kibble works best with this automatic pet feeder.
Capacity? You can store between 5 and 7 pounds of food in the hopper. It’s variable, of course, based on the kibble your pets eat.
And that’s how many meals? It completely depends on the meal size you set, but you can set as many meals as there is food in the hopper.
What sort of power is needed? There’s a charging cable and a rechargeable battery for power outages. Not bad, right?
Is the cleaning easy? Simple. The hopper is dishwasher safe and so is the stainless steel bowl. The rest you’ll need to wash by hand.
Will it break the bank? The MSRP is about $150, but you can expect to pay closer to $120. That’s not cheap, but it is very good considering the Smart features and stability you get with this feeder.
