This backpack has lots of extra loose straps.
Size: This is the backpack you'll want to take whether your hiking for two days or two months. At just 4 pounds, it's a fairly lightweight option (though some people find it a bit heavy when added to the rest of their gear). However, you will never complain about it being uncomfortable. The well-designed structure hugs your body providing the perfect fit and no movement whatsoever.
Durability: Durability is definitely one of the "pros" of this hiking backpack. It's made with durable nylon, which means it's tear and water resistant. The backpack is designed for 4-season use, and it can handle cold, heat, rain, and wind with no problem. And the good news is, Osprey will repair any damage or defect for any reason free of charge – whether it was purchased in 1974 or yesterday.
Extra features: If you like extra pockets then you'll love this pack. There are five exterior zippered pockets and three slip pockets. On top of that, the front mesh pocket that Osprey is known for can also fit a lot of gear, and you can keep all of your rain gear in it for quick and easy access. The anti-gravity suspension puts this backpack in a league of it's own. It really makes a difference in keeping you cool during hot days.
One of the best features of this pack is the angled water bottle pocket. With the Osprey, you can easily reach on either side to grab your 32 ounce Nalgene bottle. It's a game changer.
Price: The $250 price may be a bit steep considering the fact that there are much cheaper hiking backpacks out there. However, if you plan on doing some serious hiking and want a backpack that comfortably fits all of your overnight gear, it's a worthwhile investment.
