- Amazing, long-lasting hold
- You don’t need a lot to get the results you want
- Washes out wonderfully
Few, if any, complaints from the majority of users.
If you’re looking for a hold that's strong enough to offer volume, but also a pomade that makes your hair appear thicker and fuller, you’ve come to the right place. You should expect this product to offer a lot of texture to the shortest hair, and plenty of shine to longer hair. In between, you’ll get a lot of height, plus the ability to manipulate it.
Now, it doesn’t appear to affect many users, but this Japanese product can make some hair feel a bit oily if it’s left in for longer than a day. Additionally, it’s not exactly a scent we would consider manly. It’s not unpleasant, mind you, but it’s not a typical men’s grooming aroma. (You’ll see what we mean.)
Notable ingredients: As the ingredient list on the container itself is in Japanese, we thought you might find it useful to see the full list – in English: Water, PEG-40, Steareth-40, Glyceline, Titanium Dioxide, Mica, Sodium polyacrylate, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, EDTA, Benzoic Acid, and Fragrance.
Hold and control: We’d call this a long-lasting medium hold, though you may find it gives you a little more than that; some guys do.
Shine level: Another middle-of-the road shine. A little more water, a little more shine…but then you also get a little less hold. It’s your choice.
Texture and fragrance: It smells like tropical fruit with some apple-like notes. (Perhaps unusual, but not unpleasant.) As far as texture goes, it feels like a wax more than a pomade. It’s non-greasy and lightweight, but you’ll get that wax grip as you work it in.
Application: It’s remarkably easy to tack this on and yet, a tiny amount of this product goes a long way. You get lasting malleability when applied to damp hair. And you can even touch it up with a little water on a comb.
Washability: It washes out super cleanly, and it does so quite quickly.
Sizes and pricing: Amazon sells this for somewhere around $16 for 7 ounces, with Prime shipping. That means you’ll pay less than $2.50 per ounce. Yes, we did consider it as a budget pick, but volume and texture is where this pomade really shines.
