Best Overall Halloween Costume for Younger Kids
Let’s face it; kids are still Pokémon mad. So you know any kid would simply adore this Pikachu costume. Sure, it’s hardly original, but you do get an almost complete costume.
Sadly, the tail is a little floppy (which it shouldn’t be given the price). And, given that the kids are going to want to wear this after Halloween, you’re going to wish this could go in the machine.
Last year, it was all about the Pokémon Go phenomenon. When you drove anywhere, they had to have their phones out, scouting for gyms, stops, and rare Pokémon. And, there are plenty of younger kids that are just learning about the game and getting into the characters.
This costume has some pros; it’s basically a done deal with the fleece jumpsuit filled with a foam tummy and sporting an attached tail. You also get the hat. A little yellow face paint could go a long way on this, but we can’t complain too much.
However, watch the sizing on this. It runs almost ridiculously small. Size up and make sure you order with plenty of time to exchange.
Rating out of five:

What’s it made of? As you can imagine, this is made from polyester with foam inserts.
Will you need extra bits? Some face paint or yellow gloves could make this costume a little more enjoyable (for everyone). And, if you want to be a little more creative with this costume, you could make a cardboard outline to look like a phone screen. It will make them feel as though they’re in their favorite game.
Is it hand wash only? Sadly, yes. And you’re probably going to need to wash it over, and over, and over again. If your kid is truly Pokémon crazy, you may just want to buy two at once.
Will it break the bank? For a Halloween costume, it’s not cheap. But, if your kid is going to want to wear it all the time then it’s not so bad. It’s roughly $50, and you’re paying for endless smiles with this costume. What parent can say no to that?
