Best Budget "Nespresso" Pod
The price, the price, the price. Oh, and the flavor is pretty darn good too.
These just aren’t for serious coffee drinkers; they’re for people that need coffee at a good price.
You wanted the beautiful Nespresso machine that sits all sleek on your counter, but you don’t feel like paying the high prices for their capsules. We get that.
And, that’s why we think you should get your hands on a bag of these capsules. Yes, a bag, which surprisingly seems to do a better job of protecting the capsules than the boxes that you’ll find competitor products in. So, not only are they way cheaper, but you won’t lose nearly as many in the shipping process.
As for the big questions; yes, they will work in your machine – as long as you have a Prodigio, Inissia, Pixie, Citiz, U, Lattissima, Maestria, or Kitchenaid that takes the Nespresso OriginalLine pods.
And, just as importantly, these capsules actually taste delicious. Sure, they may not be as full-bodied and rich as the more expensive options, but these are definitely much more than simply passable.
Pod type: OriginalLine compatible
Beans, roast, and origins: It’s a blend of Arabicas from Latin America and Robustas from Africa and it’s surprisingly flavorful. Interestingly, the coffee is made in Italy before shipping it over here; but what's a few more continents before reaching it's final destination?
Flavor and aroma notes: While the manufacturer sells this as a rich blend, we’d say it’s very close to that. It’s not nearly as aromatic as some of the others on this list, but it definitely has a convincing coffee flavor.
Price: At 25 cents a pod, these are a real score – and by all accounts, the flavor isn’t bad either. If you’re looking to spend less on your daily brew, while making the most of your Nespresso machine, this is absolutely the way to do it. Whether you want to bump it up on the weekends, or not, is totally up to you.
