Best Budget Air Fryer
This is a huge oilless fryer. Huge doesn’t even cover it. You can fit 16 quarts of food over two trays – and that means you can fry different foods at the same time.
It’s way too big for some people. And, to be fair, the unconventional design doesn’t work for everyone.
- Rated #7 in 7 Best (Oil Less) Air Fryers
Okay, this oilless fryer isn’t like most of the others on this list. And, that puts some people off. But, you really should consider it, especially if you’re on a budget. That’s because it cooks a lot of food and it reaches temperatures that no other air fryers can manage. The features and operation may be basic, but it’s easy to operate and many people fall in love. Seriously.
Manual or digital? You’ll operate this manually. But, you shouldn’t be surprised given the price. There are temperature and timer dials, plus a light to let you know when the proper temperature has been reached.
Capacity? 16 quarts. It’s amazing!
Temperatures and timers? Hot and hotter still; you can set the temperature between 250ºF and about 500ºF. The timer goes up to 60 minutes.
Can it cook in other ways? This cooks differently than most oilless fryers. It cooks using a combination of halogen, convection, and infrared heat. The result is closest to frying, but the manufacturer claims it can bake and broil too.
Cleaning? The bowl is glass and it’s heavy, so you can feel comfortable putting most of this in the dishwasher.
Additional features? We wouldn’t call it a feature per se, but the cooking information printed on the control panel is useful. (You know, how long to cook chicken or fish for – and at what temperature.)
Product dimensions? It’s 12.5 x 16 x 13.5 inches when assembled and it weighs almost 15 pounds. It’s rather big and bulky.
Will it break the bank? There are different color options available and they make a difference in the price you’ll pay. But, you can expect to pay between $45 and $90. That’s a steal considering the appliance you actually get.
