There’s no easy cleaning method with this press. And, most users report that it can’t handle fresh ginger.
Know someone that loves to cook? This is an incredible gift. And, not just because of the slick presentation, there’s far more to this garlic press than that.
In addition to the ability to chuck unpeeled garlic into the reservoir, there’s also a silicone roller tube that’s a load of fun to play with. Basically, you tuck an unpeeled clove inside and roll the gadget back and forth as if you were rolling a cigar. Release to remove the clove and its paper. You don’t really need it, but it’s rather fun.
We really wanted to give this the number one spot, especially given its popularity on Amazon, but we have to admit that our top choice is more comfortable and cuts garlic perfectly. And, the others just have that extra something special. Still, for average garlic press users, the price and presentation of this one is more than enough.
What’s it made of? Stainless steel.
Does it feature easy operation? The large handle is traditional, but it works like a charm; there’s no need to guide the press. And, it’s not as heavy as other models, so it’s nice for those with a weaker grip. Plus, there’s no need to pre-peel the garlic.
How do you clean out the garlic residue? Sadly, it’s a matter of running it under water before washing. But, you shouldn’t need to do too much of that if you use the peeler gadget first and pop this gadget in the dishwasher after.
Is it dishwasher safe? Yes, and we love that.
How much does it weigh? 9.6 ounces.
Any guarantees or warranties? This peeler comes with a lifetime guarantee, how great is that?
Will it break the bank? It’s about $20, which is on the high-end of average. But, it’s worth it.
