We all know and agree that there’s nothing wrong with being on the shorter end of the spectrum. At the end of the day, height isn’t something that defines you. Height isn’t something we can control right?
The good news is, there are things we can do to fix that. One way is to choose clothes that flatter our body types – clothes that will make us look taller and leaner, not shorter and stockier.
To help us dress to impress, fashion and lifestyle YouTuber Daniel Simmons created his 4 Style Tips For Short Men video.
His first tip is to tuck in. Yes, he said tuck in. “Tucking in the shirt is a must because it [visibly] highlights where your waistline is, which gives the illusion that your legs are actually longer,” Simmons explains.
Now, remember, there’s actually more than one way to tuck in your shirt. You have to determine which option suits your style the most.
Simmons’ second tip is to choose high-rise pants if you have shorter legs. Like tucking in, high-rise pants give the illusion of longer legs. This makes you look taller, leaner, and slimmer.
The YouTuber’s third tip is to go monochrome. This means wearing clothes with one color (i.e black shirt, black pants, black socks, black shoes) or choosing colors from the same color family (50 shades of nude).
“Doing this creates a solid line from your shoulders to your ankles and it doesn’t break you up,” he says.
For his last tip, Simmons recommends choosing shoes with some height to them. Examples could be combat boots, Chelsea boots, or Derbys that have a higher platform.
At the end of the video, Simmons reminds his viewers how height isn’t something to be ashamed of and to remember that these are only tips to help those who want it. “Embrace yourself,” he concludes.
